چکیده

The 2,4-Diacetylphloroglucinol (2,4-DAPG) and phenazine (PCA)-producing Pseudomonas inhibit wheat pathogens’ development, but the relationship between communities of pathogens genotypes these bacteria has been little studied. Relationships crown fungi associated with presence 2,4-DAPG PCA-producing pseudomonads were evaluated in four commercial crops located La Araucanía Los Lagos Regions Chile, during two seasons. Portions base first internode culm collected grain-filling stage cultured an artificial medium for fungal isolation, while roots same plants from previous harvest, also used to assess yield plant height, detection spp. using PCR specific primers. Genera Phaeosphaeria, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Microdochium repeatedly isolated (52.6%, 22.1%, 7.8%, 4.9%, respectively) genetic composition varied fields sampling periods. Genetic groups A, B, D, K, L, P phlD gene detected. 2,4-DAPG-producing benefited crop health, relating their existence increasing reduction incidence severity disease caused by pathogenic microorganisms on culms.

Irrigation differentially impacts populations of indigenous antibiotic-producing pseudomonas spp. in the rhizosphere of wheat.

This work determined the impact of irrigation on the seasonal dynamics of populations of Pseudomonas spp. producing the antibiotics phenazine-1-carboxylic acid (Phz(+)) and 2,4-diacetylphloroglucinol (Phl(+)) in the rhizosphere of wheat grown in the low-precipitation zone (150 to 300 mm annually) of the Columbia Plateau of the Inland Pacific Northwest. Population sizes and plant colonization fr...

Rapid detection of carbapenemase-producing Pseudomonas spp.

A novel biochemical technique, the Carba NP test, has been evaluated to detect carbapenemase production in Pseudomonas spp. This test was specific (100%), sensitive (94.4%), and rapid (<2 h). This cost-effective test, which could be implemented in any microbiology laboratory, offers a reliable technique for identification of carbapenemase-producing Pseudomonas spp.

Frequency of Antibiotic-Producing Pseudomonas spp. in Natural Environments.

The antibiotics phenazine-1-carboxylic acid (PCA) and 2,4-diacetylphloroglucinol (Phl) are major determinants of biological control of soilborne plant pathogens by various strains of fluorescent Pseudomonas spp. In this study, we described primers and probes that enable specific and efficient detection of a wide variety of fluorescent Pseudomonas strains that produce various phenazine antibioti...

Comparison of soil microbial communities inhabiting vineyards and native sclerophyllous forests in central Chile

Natural ecosystems provide services to agriculture such as pest control, soil nutrients, and key microbial components. These services and others in turn provide essential elements that fuel biomass productivity. Responsible agricultural management and conservation of natural habitats can enhance these ecosystem services. Vineyards are currently driving land-use changes in many Mediterranean eco...

Antimicrobial compounds produced by Bacillus spp. and applications in food

The Bacillus genus is a heterogeneous group of Gram-positive, facultative anaerobic, endospore-forming bacteria spread into the environment, even though soil is generally accepted as its natural reservoir. The ability to produce endospores allows Bacillus to withstand extreme environmental conditions as those occurring in food processing. Bacillus spp., particularly B. subtilis, are usually fou...
